N/Me or N/Mo?
Dunno, can't decide between the two. They both sound appealing. This guy is on Prophecies, and I plan to farm later. He might PvP, but what do you think will be best?

You can change professions later on in the game, anyway.
I prefer N/Mo because you have broken energy management (Soul Reaping) for PvE, and you can spare a few slots for Protective Spirit and so and so.
N/Me is best for Hex Breaker (On the PvP side of things) and Arcane Echo, which synergises well with Spiteful Spirit.

Your choice
Both are good choices. I tend to use a Spiteful Spirit build in PVE, so the use of arcane echo is great for mobs. My hero curses necro's tend to go /Rt though and usually use channeling skills in a couple of slots (spirit rift/ancestors rage). Only sometimes do I bother giving my necros /mo, and then only for protective spirit which I force on myself when req.

I went with N/Me. Not for energy management, but for synergy.
I don't use Arcane echo+SS. I use hexes, hex removal, interupts, and the use of illusion of haste.
You don't need to be a /mo to MM, and spirit of failure + price of failure + reckless haste = damage+unnecessary e-gain.
With a N/Me, you can do the following conditions: Poison, Bleeding (use plague touch/sending), disease, weakness, crippling (use IoH+PT/S), blindness, deep wounds, and cracked armor.
As others have said, /Me, /Mo, /E, /Rt, even /D are good choices.
Do whatever feels right for you.

Since you plan to farm later, you can pick up some of your farming skills on the cheap if you got /mo.

I personnaly would go /Me... But since your planning to farm with it.. It'd probably be better to go /Mo (Money-Wise that is).
Although /Me is usefull its not a necesity... A necro can run great builds without the help of Arcane Echo and Epidemic.
So tbh.. do whats cheaper... save a bit of cash and go /Mo... and pickup the early game /Mo skills...
Either way... you can then switch to /Me later on in the game.

N/A for Assassin's Promise, funnest Nec build i've ever played is this one.
N/Me's good for Arcane Echo + SS.
N/Mo's good for farming.
Keep in mind you can swap secondaries once your character ascends, so it really doesn't matter.

N/Mo - only for MMs right? or soloing. I prefer N/A and N/Me. Recently, I stopped using Arcane Echo when playing SS, it recharges fast enough and I get to take an extra curse or PVE skill.

ty for all the feedback guys I went for N/Mo, even though I don't use monk skills very often. The majority of my lvl11 build has blood magic in it.

Cool, Blood carries you well through the early parts of the game. Later I'm sure you will take up either the Curse or Death line. You'll see what I mean when you start getting some of the better skills.

It's probably best for a newbie player to choose /Mo regardless of what he's planning on using his necromancer for.
Players going /Me will just be tempted to throw a shitload of useless mesmer trash on their bar at a horrific spec. It's a bad habit.

Yeah, but players going /mo try to use healing prayers. They are not bad in a blood spike, but in pve they are pretty no-no.
I'd say that /me = more damage (arcane echo), /mo is more defense (Sabway's N/Mo or MM or MM + Dwayna's Sorrow).
